Workshops for Young Leaders

The CAUX-Initiatives of Change Foundation offers workshops to students and young leaders with the aim to inspire, connect and equip young people to ‘be the change they wish to see in the world’ by tackling challenges in their own immediate environment.

In a highly interactive and experiential environment, participants explore how to create positive work environments in diverse and intercultural teams, and how to lead ethically for a just, peaceful and sustainable world.

In a facilitative style which is based on CAUX-Initiatives of Change’s experience and approach, we address themes such as:
  • Leadership styles, inner leadership, everyday leadership, situational leadership
  • Leadership tools for prioritization, delegation, feed-back, motivation
  • Values-based decision making
  • Team-work, processes and roles
  • Communicating effectively, listening with intention
  • Conflict transformation on the personal and on the global level
  • Culture and identities
  • Facilitation tools for more effective meetings and conversations
  • Coaching, mentoring
  • Storytelling to create new meaning and to inspire
  • Silent reflection as a way of seeking inner wisdom and unlocking creative potential

Close to 20 workshops have been created for AIESEC in Switzerland (since 2011), Just Innovate (since 2015) and Euforia (since 2016). We are open to further designing customized workshops which respond to your organizations’ needs.

Our trainers and facilitators volunteer their time, however we ask for a 100 CHF contribution per workshop or the coverage of our direct costs (travel, sandwich, prints, and, if needed, accommodation).

If you are interested in having one of our workshops in English, please write to

Scholarships for members of AIESEC in Switzerland

Since 2011, over 20 members of AIESEC in Switzerland have benefitted from scholarships at the Caux Forum. These scholarships are advertized within the AIESEC in Switzerland network to support members who are likely to take a leadership role within AIESEC in Switzerland, whose mission is to develop and connect the next generation of young leaders with impactful professional and volunteering experiences to activate their potential.

I left with a heart full of gratitude, joy, and sadness. I left feeling more empowered, inspired, and with a pressing voice inside me saying that it’s time to take responsibility, it is time to take action.

- Melani Kalev, AIESEC Scholar at the International Peacebuilders’ Forum in 2016

I have learned new concepts, new perspectives, and refreshing knowledge. I have met many inspirational people and stories, as well as had a chance to tell my stories. Give and receive is what the Caux experience has taught me. Coming back from the conference, I feel fresh and motivated to take actions on projects I have intended to carry out.

Jessican Dinh, AIESEC Scholar 2017

This experience has been an inner journey in which I had a reinforcement of my own values. People were really inspiring. They were keen on sharing their long experience in business, life and tips. I would recommend to any AIESEC people to take the chance to join an IofC conference.

- Pierre Huber, AIESEC Scholar 2016

After the IofC’s “Leading a Team” workshop last December, the students’ organization AIESEC’s Bern team asked the CAUX-IofC Foundation to create a follow-up workshop on “Dealing with Leadership Challenges”, which The CAUX-IofC’s project manager for Switzerland Brigitt Altwegg and two experienced volunteers designed and held on 27 April 2015 in Bern.

At the student organisation AIESEC Switzerland’s national assembly’s LEAD-Day, which took place on 29 March 2014 in Leysin, CAUX-Initiatives of Change (CAUX-IofC) offered a workshop on ‘Values and Ethics in Leadership and the role of Youth Leadership Today’ and participated in the LEAD-Day’s Concluding Panel on ‘Empowerment: Enabling Young People to Lead’.

CAUX-Initiatives of Change shares its wealth of experience with young people by offering a series of workshops to members of AIESEC, the worlds' largest student-run organisation.

On 19 April 2013, the IofC team-building workshop ‘Are you pulling on the same rope’ was delivered to twenty-five members of the students’ organisation AIESEC at their general assembly in Fiesch.

Students in Fribourg

On 13 December 2012, Rainer Gude, IofC representative to the UN and international organisations in Geneva, and Brigitt Altwegg, CAUX-IofC project manager for Switzerland, offered the IofC-workshop 'Your piece in world peace' to members of the students’ organisation AIESEC at the University of Fribourg.
