« Allowed to work? » - Human Library at the Week against Racism

  • When: 18 March 2019 at 7.30pm / 21 March 2019 at 6.30pm
  • Where: Montreux and Vevey

The theme of this year’s week against racism to be held in March 2019 is “Allowed to work?” During this week, Initiatives of Change Switzerland will help organise two human libraries. The first will take place on 18 March at 7.30pm at the Montreux-Veytaux library and the second on 21 March at 6.30pm at the Vevey municipal library.

These human libraries will shine a spotlight on personal stories related to the theme of the week: recruitment discrimination. The “human books” will include an employer who has hired someone with an F permit, people who have experienced problems whilst looking for work and someone helping migrants to find a job. Participants will be able to listen to two of these “books” and to share ideas. Drinks will also be served.

These public events are organised in collaboration with the town of Vevey, the commune of Montreaux, the Maison de Quartier Jaman 8, the Montreux-Veytaux municipal library and the Vevey municipal library.

Spoken language: French
