Living landscapes: Putting people in the centre of ecosystem restoration

Attempts by various actors and institutions have shown that the only way to achieve sustainable and long-term landscape regeneration is to put local people in charge and to involve the community. The benefits of large-scale ecosystem restoration are potentially huge: climate change reversed, environmental migration curbed and peace sustained.

The 2019 edition will focus on community action and the power of the individual in tackling the most pressing issues of our time. Some of the world's most renowned experts, political thinkers and thought leaders will discuss how environmental problems negatively impact a community’s peace and stability.
