The Education for Peace programme of IofC France has been granted the title '25th Anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child', awarded by the French 'Défenseur des Droits' (Defender of Rights) Institution, for its involvement in the promotion of children's rights.

A 12-page report of the Caux conference on Just Governance for Human Security is now available for download. The report carries extracts from the discussions in plenaries and workshops, including the comments of Michael Møller, Director-General of the UN at Geneva in a plenary on 'Trust as a key to peace'; the Russian-Ukrainian statement which emerged from their joint workshops; and the search for solutions to conflict in the Sahel which brought leaders of Mali, Chad and Niger to Caux.

Lawrence Bloom, Chairman of Be Energy and soon to be Secretary General of the Be Earth Foundation, a United Nations intergovernmental organization, took his audience on a journey between the boundaries of right, wrong and the multiple shades of grey in between, when he addressed a TIGETalk in the London centre of Initiatives of Change (IofC) on 7 October.

CAUX-IofC offers workshops aiming at inspiring, equipping and connecting students to work together more effectively and to lead diverse and intercultural teams.

On 19 - 21 September 2014 a 3-day European workshop on the importance of linking ethics and competitiveness in business  and the person hiding within the leader took place in  Caux/Switzerland.

On 19 September, three Swedish Initiatives of Change team members performed a sketch entitled '10 remote minutes' at the 2014 Geneva Peace Talks. The sketch centres around the idea of wishing we had a magic button that could instantly fix any conflict.

Farai Maguwu (Photo: Pontus Wallsten)In July 2014, Farai Maguwu, Director of Zimbabwe's Centre for Natural Resource Governance, took part in the international IofC conference "Just Governance" which took place in Caux/Switzerland. He was interviewed by Professor Katherine Marshall of Georgetown University.

What did you do on Peace Day? CAUX-IofC Conference Manager Nick Foster and his family went to Dublin to join in the launch of the Youth Peace Foundation International, mainly organized by Instruments of Peace. 

On 21 September and in support of the International Peace Day, the French IofC programme 'Education for Peace' has launched the ninth edition of their annual drawing competition on the theme 'Let's adopt the peace attitude!'

On 6 July 2014 Initiatives of Change was awarded the 4th Prize for Tolerance 2014 of the Ousseimi Foundation. For more information you can now download a brochure in English and French.
